cdbfasta software package provides Constant DataBase indexing and retrieval tools for multi-FASTA files, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install cdbfasta
cdbfasta is installed in your system.
Make ensure the cdbfasta package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep cdbfasta *
You will get with cdbfasta package name, version, architecture and description in a table
